Business and Finance Manager, Albuquerque, NM

URA is a subcontractor under the National Technology and Engineering Solutions of Sandia (NTESS) LLC for the management of Sandia National Laboratories (SNL) with the purpose of leveraging the resources of the academic community to enhance the Laboratories’ ability to fulfill its science and technology mission. URA has established a URA Sandia Site Office (USSO) on the SNL campus and is seeking applications for a Business and Finance Manager.

Reporting directly to the USSO Director, the Business and Finance Manager will be responsible for directing the overall business activities in accordance with current applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines and regulations, and as directed by the USSO Director, will assure that proper administrative procedures are maintained.  The Business and Finance Manager also is responsible for overall risk management and fiduciary matters related to the USSO.

The Business and Finance Manager is responsible for the daily financial activities and functions for the USSO including accounting, budget, invoicing, tax, and other operational matters. He/she ensures all financial operations are in compliance with governmental rules and regulations. In coordination with the USSO Director, he/she oversees the budget process for USSO and works with other USSO and URA headquarters staff to produce and manage effective budgets and to ensure expenditures are appropriate. He/she provides input to strategic decisions that are affected by the budget.

This is a senior level position requiring extensive experience. The Business and Finance Manager should have at least 7 years + experience and understanding of federal procurement laws, regulations, and contracts and subcontracts administration, with a high preference of DOE/NNSA M&O contracting/laboratory experience; minimum of college degree in business, accounting or related field.

Research Analyst, Albuquerque, NM

Reporting directly to the USSO Director, the Research Analyst will be responsible for the collection and analysis of data that provides insight into the productivity of Sandia science, engineering and technology programs. He/she will conduct research and statistical analyses to identify and understand trends in research funding, research productivity, and economic impact at the local and national levels. He/she will develop a consistent dashboard framework for metrics that connects input measures to value creation for Sandia’s science, engineering and technology programs. The Research Analyst will also collect and maintain data on benchmarks for the conduct and productivity of science and technology in other organizations including other NNSA laboratories, other Department of Energy national laboratories, academia, and industry.

This position requires a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent in science or engineering or in a related field such as statistics, public administration, public policy, or educational research. Successful candidates should have at least three years of experience in research analysis, statistical analysis, or policy analysis and demonstrate skills in data analysis, statistics, critical thinking, and attention to detail. Excellent verbal and superior writing and report presentation skills are essential.

Senior Administrative Assistant

URA is a subcontractor under the National Technology and Engineering Solutions of Sandia (NTESS) LLC for the management of Sandia National Laboratories (SNL) with the purpose of leveraging the resources of the academic community to enhance the Laboratories’ ability to fulfill its science and technology mission. URA has established a URA Sandia Site Office (USSO) on the SNL campus and is seeking applications for a Senior Administrative Assistant.

Reporting directly to the USSO Director, the Senior Administrative Assistant will be experienced in handling a wide range of administrative and executive support-related tasks and should be able to work independently with little or no supervision. The Administrative Assistant will also support the USSO Director in all clerical and administrative functions that contribute to the functioning of the URA Sandia Site Office. The Senior Administrative Assistant will be a highly resourceful team-player, who is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, sometimes under pressure, while remaining flexible, proactive, and efficient. The individual will have the ability to exercise good judgment in a variety of situations, with strong written and verbal communication, administrative, and organizational skills, and the ability to maintain a realistic balance among multiple priorities.

This is a senior administrative position.  This position requires an associate degree or its equivalent with at least 4 years of experience in the field or in a related area. We are looking for a polished professional with a high degree of initiative, an excellent attention to detail, and the ability to support, coordinate and plan around the diverse activities of other site office staff members, Sandia personnel and outside experts and consultants.  Excellent verbal and superior writing and report presentation skills are essential. It is highly desirable for the person to have a detailed familiarity with Sandia National Laboratories itself.
